Android 4.3 spotted on Google Play Edition Galaxy S4
We have just obtained some screenshots of an early Android 4.3 build running on a Snapdragon-powered Galaxy S4 (GT-I9505) from the folks at SamMobile.
Android 4.3 is going to be the next version of Google’s OS which is going to be named Jellybean as with their previous 2 releases 4.1 and 4.2 respectively.So we will have to wait for some 5.0 Key Lime Pie goodness for now!
The test build was originally for the Google Play Edition Galaxy S4 (GT-I9505G), as we can see from the screenshot of “About phone”.
According to the screenshots, the Android version is “4.3” and the build number is “JWR66N.S005.130625“. Android build number is “JWR66N,” and “S005.130625″ is something which Samsung has added to keep a record of internal test builds.
Google hasn’t made Android 4.3 public yet, but it’s good to know that OEMs already have access to the source code. Early access will result in quick software updates and less Android fragmentation.
